Things to do this week (plus a recipe!).

Hello everyone!

Summer vacation is coming a close in just a few weeks, with the fall semester starting up at the end of the month. In a bid to make the most of my days without a proper schedule, I’ve made a list of things to do.

1. Travel! : As you know, all our travelling earlier in the summer was wedding related. So to squeeze in a bit of fun, the boy and I will be travelling to Washington DC for a week. This is mostly so that I can apply for a visa for my trip to South Africa in December, but we will be fitting in museum hopping and sightseeing too 🙂

2. Chill out with friends : Surprisingly, my social calendar has been a bit more packed than usual including participating in GISHWHES, hosting a Roman themed murder mystery night and some rather emotional D&D nights. So this weekend we will be relaxing with our friends at a lazy Sunday BBQ (I mean, it is Texas after all!).

3. Clear out the fridge : We have quite a bit of produce left over from the murder mystery night that needs using up. Thankfully with the internet, it is possible to look up recipes to use up almost any random combination of ingredients. This will be a great way to try out new recipes as well as having an empty fridge in preparation for going away. Case in point: We had a lot of limes as well as a bunch of rosemary left over. Enter Rosemary infused Limeade!

Rosemary Infused Limeade Recipe:

Warm 1 cup of water with 1/2 cup of sugar and a sprig of rosemary. Mix until the sugar is dissolved. Let the syrup sit for 5 minutes (while you juice the limes!) to let the rosemary infuse fully. Mix in 1 cup of lime juice with the sugar syrup and 2 cups of water. Stir and chill.

4.Back up laptop: Needs no explanation. Everyone needs to do this. If you haven’t done one recently, go do it now!

Will you be doing any of these this week?

Until next time, Love, Me 🙂
