Citizens of the world!!
What’s a game changer? You ask… Well, you are plodding along, happy that we live in a world with sliced bread, and then you come across a product which blows your mind, causing you to pretty much worship it and put it up there with all the amazing ideas our species has come up with like backlit keyboards, gamma ray telescopes and 24 hour pizza delivery.
Well, you get the gist..
So here are 6 of my beauty related products which I think deserve their own little velvet cushion in my drawers..
Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm:
The product that inspired this whole post. I first heard about it from Vivianna Does Makeup, and bought it on a whim because it was on offer. It has since been raved about by any beauty blogger worth their salt and sold out pretty much everywhere. As for me, I love it on so many different levels that if I had to choose between this and chocolate ice cream, I would have a serious dilemma on my hands. (Yes, I did just say that!). It smells absolutely gorgeous, it melts onto your skin when you massage it, gets my face clean like nothing else I have ever tried, and is the perfect way to wash your face, give yourself a little pamper and wind down before going to bed. Oh and did I mention it smells amazing??
I think this is the product that started off my skincare obsession (Mum and dad, you know what to blame now!), and it is so good that I have barely used any other cleanser since I got this. It has no mineral oil like some of the other cleansing balms, skincare goddess Caroline Hirons (aka Beauty mouth) loves it, and I can;t really think of a single thing I don’t like about the product itself. (The packaging could do with some improvements though) It does have essential oils which some people might react to, so test it out before you splurge and then proceed to hate me.
If you want to hear me rave more about this, message me and I will talk your ears off.
This is a hairbrush that looks a bit like a plastic horse brush, but it brushes and detangles hair without pulling at the knots or breaking them. The first time I pulled this through my hair I was like: what sorcery is this? I have quite fine and curly hair so this works brilliantly for me. And the three other people I recommended it to seemed to love it as well. They also have a version you can use in the shower, but I find this works well on my wet hair as well.
Since it is plastic, you will not be able to use it along with any heat products like curling irons etc, but since I don’t use those, it is not a problem for me. Best thing would be to try it first if someone you know has it so you can find out if it works for your hair type.
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask:
This mask is basically a souped up night time moisturiser. It is quite a no frills product, but it does exactly what it says on the tin, and does it extremely well. Origins is also a natural brand, so this has no nasties in it, it smells absolutely gorgeous. I used this quite often in winter when my dry skin was in need of some TLC, but now I use it once a week to make sure I get rid of any dry patches on my face.
Phyto 7 Hydrating Day Cream:
This is another cream, but this one is for your hair. I know, you are probably thinking: What on earth is she going to come up with next? I have no reason why I bought this apart from: It was there and it looked interesting. Since my hair is quite fine it tends to get greasy easily, but it is also quite dry at the ends. I was very impressed when I first used this, I just massaged a small blob of this between my hands and ran it through my dry hair, and it absorbed really quickly without leaving it feeling greasy at all!
I don’t use this all that often, but when I do I am very glad I have it with me..
Leighton Denny Large Crystal Nail File:
I am quite a simple girl when it comes to doing my nails. I don’t paint my finger nails, and I paint my toe nails once every 2 or 3 weeks. While I don’t faff around too much with my finger tips I like to keep them at a decent length and well maintained. So when my old nail file got a bit worse for the wear I didn’t think I was going to be getting anything fancy. Around the same time, Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup (That girl is such an enabler!!!) did a video about her nail care regime and how she loved this nail file. I looked the price and balked! £15 for a nail file??? Seriously?
However, the nail file did seem to have really good reviews and I had a £5 off coupon so I bit the bullet and ordered it. And I am so freaking glad I did. One sweep across my nails and the edges are powdered into dust. It also seals the tip while filing so your nails don’t peel, catch on things or break easily. It isn’t called the Rolls Royce of nail files for nothing. Oh and it comes with a 25 year warranty :D.
Blistex Intensive Moisturiser Hydrating Lip Cream SPF10:
Probably the least exciting thing on this list. Once again, bought on a whim in winter because I wanted a heavy duty lip balm for my poor wind chapped lips. It was doing a good job, but nothing too spectacular.
Later when I went on a quick jaunt to Amsterdam I somehow managed to chap my top lip and the skin just above it terrifically and since I only had some normal lip balm with me I was in agony for a few days till I got back. Since nothing else I tried worked I slathered this on before bed when I got back, looking a bit silly. (When applied heavily this does leave a visible white opaque layer ) and when I woke up the next morning, it was almost completely healed!!
My lips are usually fine, a bit on the dry side, but they suddenly decide to go haywire and prevent me from being able to smile/eat/drink for a few days, so when this happened again a few days ago, I knew what to reach for first, and ta da! This cheaper than chips balm worked it’s magic again. I have now stocked up on this and have 3 different tubes lying around just in case…
Whew! What a rambly post that was!! So, have you discovered any game changing products lately??
Until next time, Love, Me 🙂
